"I prefer winter when you feel the bone structure of the landscape. Although a compelling quote by Andrew Wyeth, it's not something you would hear me say. I prefer a warmer climate so with winter fast approaching I decided to fly out to Santa Barbara for Waterhouse Gallery's, "Great American Figurative Show." I had two new paintings for the show and artists from across the country gathered for the opening reception. After the show, over 60 guests, collectors and artists strolled down State Street in the chilly night air for a lively dinner at Cafe Buenos Aires. On Sunday morning the artists were treated to a cruise around the harbor. I had a chance to get to know some outstanding painters who's work I admire. Many thanks to Ralph and Diane Waterhouse for thier wonderful hospitality and hard work. I'd also like to thank the folks at the Franciscan Inn for taking great care of us!
Eli Cedrone is an award-winning, artist living in the Boston area.
"I've always been influenced by the power of images to express ideas and emotions. Painting is a process of discovery and decision making where disparate elements pull together until the image is clearly expressed. Ultimately my concerns are with the expressive qualities of light captured with paint. Contemporary Impressionism best describes my style.”
A graduate of the School of Art & Design in Boston, Cedrone studied in Italy; at the Museum of Fine Arts School and at The Academy of Realist Art. She began her career in Bermuda, at Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising, followed by work as an art director and Illustrator in Laguna Beach, CA.
Cedrone has won numerous awards including Portrait Society of America, Oil Painters of America and International Artists. She is the recipient of several residencies and fellowships and has participated in juried invitationals in the US and abroad. Eli a popular workshop instructor in the US and internationally.
